In addition, we support human service initiatives that allow people to raise their self esteem, obtaining high standards of self-improvement and wellbeing. </P><P><SPAN class=adpInternaCeleste><STRONG>Por Una Vida Foundation<BR></STRONG></SPAN></P><P>Our companies make it possible for more than 440 child patients from this Foundation who suffer from blood diseases and leukemia to receive treatment, medication, and blood transfusions each month. </P><P>By so doing, we have contributed to the achievement of Por Una Vida Foundation's main objective, which is to increase cure rates, currently at 63%.</P><P>Por Una Vida Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide access to medication and treatment for children from low-income families who suffer from leukemia and other blood diseases. The patients are aged between 1 and 15 years and come from all of the provinces in the country. </P><P>The treatments last an average of 2 and a half years and the costs are very high, for which reason they are almost inaccessible for the families of these children. </P>","Health And Wellbeing");

For example, the Lago Agrio Storage and Transfer Station has been assigned the ISO 14001 by the environmental auditing firm Det Norske Veritas for the environmental management processes in this area. </P><P>The 3D seismic prospecting applied in Block 14 demonstrates innovative cutting-edge technology for the exploration of hydrocarbons and, due to that, it received an award from the United Kingdom's Energy Institute, given that its application did not harm the primary forest in this vulnerable area that has so much biodiversity.</P><P>In the production of hydrocarbons, our companies are renowned for its use of cutting-edge technology in: electricity generation in its fields, the process of refining its crude to produce diesel, the use of enzymes for water control, improving the quality of crude and cleaning wells, the installation of the SCADA system for monitoring and operational control, and its geological and reservoir models for controlling reservoir fluids.
